How can you help YouthLine?
You can support us by making an online donation or find out more here
or...
Right now we do need a volunteer Treasurer. If anyone is interested, please contact Collette on 01344 311200 or e-mail
Youthline is also looking for volunteer counsellors.
You may be in the process of training to become a counsellor and looking for a work placement or just interested in the work.
If you have no prior training, YouthLine hosts an intermediate Certificate course in Counselling Skills in conjunction with Richmond University the course is one day a week - 9.30am to 3.00pm for 16 weeks. Attending the course does not commit you to work at YouthLine.
Working as a counsellor at Youthline is dependant on you having passed a Certificate Course in Counselling Skills.
If you are interested in this course there are spaces left so please contact us if you would like to enrol.
Can you show empathy, respect, genuine concern and warmth for young people?
Do you have a willingness to extend your knowledge and take part in training programmes and project work that YouthLine may offer you?
If you would like to apply as a volunteer counsellor and receive details of the certificate course we offer, please email or post to us the application form here (if you are unable to open this, please let us know and we'll post one to you). On receipt of your application you may be selected for an interview. If you are offered a placement at YouthLine you will be asked to attend a short induction at the centre and then work on reception for a brief period before counselling clients.
Those studying Psychology and Counselling will find the seminars of great value, also adults working in various teaching and caring roles. Students above 16 years old are welcome. Please contact Youthline to book your place. Cost £5.00/seminar.
The lecturer Ralph Horton is an experienced Psychotherapist who regularly holds seminars at YouthLine.
